I can’ totally agree with you on your post. I just saw the program on our local PBS station on 759. Nice job. It brought back memories of my time as a Scout. I spent 6 years of going to Scout camp as a ASM with my twin boys. All three of us are Eagle Scouts. If I buy the DVD will the money go to the troop??? I will show this to our troop as an inspiration to the new scouts….

I just watched this on KCPT here in Kansas City. I am a scoutmaster of a troop that includes a portion of the inner-city Kansas City and I appreciated and enjoyed your film immensely. I enjoyed seeing their experiences and hearing their perspective in their own words. I believe that my program can be successful, that there is a need and a desire for scouting here in inner-city Kansas City, and your film offers proof that I am correct! Thanks very much!

John, thanks for your message and I am glad you will be able to watch the show on SC public TV. The decision on what to broadcast and how to broadcast it is up to each Public Television Affiliate. If you enjoy the program, I encourage you to contact UNC TV to suggest they air it more widely. They can air it as many times as they’d like in a two year period.

I am disappointed that UNC TV in North Carolina has decided to show this only on a channel they have which is only available to subscribers of Time Warner Cable. They have NO plans to show it on their channel that is broadcast over the air or is no Satellite. By showing it this way, they are leaving out the majority of the population of the state.

Thankfully Directv also carries South Carolina Public TV, and that is where I will watch this program.

After years of going to and from TMR and working at Keowa in the 80′s it is the first time I realsised it was such a pretty melody .. shame no one every taught it to a bunch of 10 – 18 year old boys and leaders

Looking at your videos and blog brought tears to my eyes! I am so happy to see inner city kids getting involved in Scouting! I have been involved in the BSA for the past 15 years and am the mother of an Eagle Scout and currently have 2 foster sons in Cub Scouts. I created a website to promote Scouting after I saw Bill Cosby on the Oprah show complaining about the state of the youth today. I sent them both packets full of info hoping they would jump on board and help promote Scouting but there was no response. I wish Troop 759 and all the new troops like it the very best. I have no doubt that many lives WILL be changed by the lessons and adventures the boys will find in the BSA !!! Congratulations !
